Ammo Talwar MBE is a music industry entrepreneur, problem-solver and CEO of Punch Records – a creative industries start-up success story; acclaimed for its work across both public and private sectors. Punch has driven cultural innovation amongst global organisations under Talwar’s creative vision and commercial acumen.
A seasoned executive and Public speaker, he was named Birmingham’s music entrepreneur of the year in 2022. He is an alumni of the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and Operation Black Vote Pathway To Success Leadership Programme, and his MBE, recognising his ongoing commitment to enhancing meaningful life chances for young people.
Currently chair of UK MUSIC’s Diversity Task Force, charged with a strategic goal of boosting diversity across the whole music industry and leveraging that innovation. He heads up a coalition of trade bodies, unions, senior music business and Government stakeholders to drive initiatives aimed at improving representation at senior level. He is a British Phonographic Industry (BPI) council board member; advises his local mayor around cultural policy and now Chairman of KOKO Foundation – the newly-formed charitable arm of the iconic London venue who’s drivers are steeped in the environment and place. Outside of the music business he loves dogs and has a passion for greening up the public realm.
