Partner – Spirit Capital

Adenike Sheriff is an investment professional focused on investing in early-stage startups solving difficult problems.

Her work is centred around redesigning the current venture capital funding landscape for founders and investors, making it easier for individuals to raise or invest capital regardless of their socio-economic background.

She began her journey in the dynamic world of venture capital by co-founding Future Africa in March 2019, where she focused on finding and funding startups that were building solutions to Africa’s challenges, as well as making it possible for individuals from all over the world to co-invest with us in these startups.

As a Principal at Future Africa, She spearheaded the deployment of $10 million into over 50 transformative companies, including Bamboo, Releaf, Shara, Smile Identity, Stitch, Stears, and Termii.

In addition to her investing role, she pioneered the creation of the Future Africa Collective, an innovative angel investment syndicate in Africa. This collective channeled approximately $10 million into promising ventures across Africa, and made it possible for individuals to invest in startups with as little as $1000.

In 2022, she was part of the inaugural cohort of the Newton Venture Fellowship at the London Business School. There, she received world-class training from faculty and venture capital professionals, further enriching her skill set.

Beyond her investment endeavors, She is deeply committed to making a difference. She currently serves on the board of TalentMine Africa, an organization dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children.

She is currently in the process of building Spirit Capital.
